Housing Options is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization that offers affordable housing and support from social workers, counselors, case managers and psychiatrists to adults recovering from chronic mental illnesses like bipolar disorder and severe depression. We provide safe, dignified living arrangements and an alternative to homelessness and unnecessary institutionalization.
Housing Options operates a Residential Program and a Non-Residential Program. In the Residential Program, the agency operates six apartment buildings it owns and approximately twenty additional apartments it leases. Housing Options provides permanent housing and support services to adults with mental illnesses, many of whom have been homeless in the past.
Launched in the fall of 2006, the Non-Residential Program serves individuals diagnosed with chronic mental illness, who live independently or with family. Housing Options introduced this program to increase the number of individuals it serves by including those people with chronic mental illnesses who are able to live independently.
More than 13,000 hours of mental health services and 27,000 days and nights of affordable housing are provided annually.
